What’s happening in ‘Hua Hin’
Welcome to our Summer 2015 Newsletter, low season is upon us but fear not, there are lots of interesting things still happening in this small City of ours.
Infrastructure in Hua Hin is continuing to improve greatly under the new Prime Minister and government. The new Soi 112 road is complete making Southern access to town very easy if you are coming to Hua Hin from Bangkok enabling visitors to miss the Traffic of Cha Am and North Hua Hin.
Road widening and drainage improvements are underway in Soi 70, along the Pala U Road close to Soi Mon Mai as well as on the Phetchkasem Road to the South of town in the Soi 126 area and beyond.
There is also a new Ring road to the back of town, starting from Soi 88, close to Red Mountain and White Stone Villas that will link to Soi 112 and eventually 102. Progress is fast and this is a great addition to the road Network.
Hua Hin City FC sponsored by Vana Nava has a new football Stadium under construction and is on schedule for completion by the end of the year which will be great for football lovers in town, currently the team are playing in Pranburi at the Thanarat Military Stadium. Just to the bottom of Soi 112 on the Junction with Phetchkasem Road, almost opposite there is also a large sporting facility being constructed, the investors for this project are linked to the Intercontinental Hotel and Vana Nava Water Park, at present not much information has been published so plans are a little vague but it’s been mentioned that there will be Tennis Courts, football pitches, swimming pool and running track.
The new Blue Port shopping Mall being developed by (The Mall Group) is well underway and construction is on schedule to be completed by Mid 2016, the Mall will be a great addition to town. The shopping centre will offer lifestyle, fashion and luxury products along with technology gadgets and also be home to hip restaurants, a gourmet market, and entertainment venues including cinemas and the “Splash Play Port” water park. Kan Airlines have been operating successful flights 3 times a week from Hua Hins local airport to Chang Mai for some months now and the service is proving very successful, at the time of going to press they will also be scheduling a new Route from Hua Hin to Pattaya (U Tapao Airport) in the coming weeks, this will also be operated 3 times weekly and opens up many options for travellers to visit the Eastern Seaboard area, including the Island of Koh Chang and Rayong region of Thailand. Pak Nam Pran Marina 25 minutes South of Hua Hin town in Pranburi has now been leased long term by a Swiss Investor and there are plans to upgrade the marina to enable Luxury Yachts to visit the region as well as a planned ferry service to Pattaya that will run 4 times a week, upgrades are now underway and the opening of the Catamaran Ferry service is expected to start within 1 year once the Marina has been upgraded and licenses obtained. Construction on the Brand New Marriot Hotel which will be on the old site opposite Market Village shopping Mall is on schedule and due to for completion towards the End of 2016, this will be a great addition to the already luxury chain of hotels in the City, the old Marriot was a very popular hotel in Hua Hin and is missed by many who anticipate a great new beginning for Marriot in Hua Hin.
The luxurious and very popular Sanae Beach Club has now been open for a couple of months and is proving very popular with tourists and Residents alike, the Club has a great Restaurant and Bar as well as Large Swimming Pools and massage service and luxury accommodation with high quality seating in the club itself and also on the beach with covered areas, more info can be found here : http://sanaebeachclub.com/

The 14th annual Hua Hin / Cha-Am Golf Festival gets underway next month. Apart from reduced green fees at 10 different Golf Courses during August and September, golfers are invited to join in weekly (Sunday) tournaments with dinner and prizes provided. Currency Exchange rates are holding up very well against the Thai Baht at present with economists predicting the Thai Baht will lose some further value against Western currencies in the coming months which will be good for foreign property buyers, at the time of going to press £1 sterling is 53 THB and 1 Euro is 37.5 THB
